Newsletter No.19 ROLL Students 18 Already we are half way through the term and Christmas is looming. We successfully participated in the Kids for Kids Concert with Suzanne Prentice. The 8 children that represented the school were, Jeremy, Sam, Tim, Madeleine, Nicolas, Georgia, Brayden and Caleb. What a wonderful night. It is great to see us in such large events and what a wonderful opportunity to sing in the Civic Theatre in front of hundreds of people. Both Natasha and myself were stoked to watch the performance and feel proud that the children participated. Well done. A big thanks to Melanie for helping with transport for the practice. Are there any helpers out there to make scenery or costumes etc for our mini production? We would appreciate any help that can be given. The production and end of year break up will be on Friday 12th December. It will start at 7pm. We will finish the evening with supper. On that Friday there will be a BBQ lunch for the children. Sausages have been kindly donated by the Taylors. From December 8th we will be swimming in the school pool daily. Please ensure that children have their togs at school. Swimming at Splash Palace is all organised. We have hired a mini bus and also have a 7 seater available daily. On the Wednesday we will be leaving early and singing to the residents at the Winton Rest home then having lunch at Queens Park before the 1pm lesson. Lions in Otautau have invited us to sing with them again at the Riverton Rest home this year. We are waiting on confirmation of a date. The roll is growing and it is great to see. The playground is buzzing with laughter and the success of having a family-like atmosphere has helped to encourage new children to the school. Thanks also goes out to Wendy for coming to school yesterday with a tub of ice-cream for each child. This was a welcome treat on a hot afternoon. Wendy has also been helping at the school each Wednesday and it is very much appreciated. Have a great fortnight.
