Principal’s Report

The Term is almost over and I feel that we have been extra busy.  As you are aware, we have focused on Road Safety and Safety in general.  The children have been taught the following;
  • Fire safety
  • Emergency services
  • Road safety
  • Bus safety
  • Pedestrian safety
  • I.T.C
  • How to use the camera
  • Using the fax and e-mail
  • Using the internet
  • Using KIDPIX
  • Powerpoints
  • Comic Life (photo programme)
  • Keeping Ourselves Safe
  • Identifying hazards when on visits.

We have visited the following places; Fire and Ambulance Stations in Otautau, Brent Scammell in Winton, Invercargill Police, RTL Road Signs.  All children have designed an individual investigation regarding safety and have presented their findings.  Wow! We have been busy!
Room 3 students are off to Splash Palace next week for a treat as they have been working hard at becoming good writers.
Holidays are almost upon us and children are ready for a break. Winner of the safety quiz in the last newsletter was Tim Baker.  Well done Tim.  He received 3 passes to Splash Palace.
I hope the lambing and calving are going well.

Regards, Clare

Kind regards,
Clare
Principal
