Newsletter No.19 ROLL Students 18 Already we are half way through the term and Christmas is looming. We successfully participated in the Kids for Kids Concert with Suzanne Prentice. The 8 children that represented the school were, Jeremy, Sam, Tim, Madeleine, Nicolas, Georgia, Brayden and Caleb. What a wonderful night. It is great to see us in such large events and what a wonderful opportunity to sing in the Civic Theatre in front of hundreds of people. Both Natasha and myself were stoked to watch the performance and feel proud that the children participated. Well done. A big thanks to Melanie for helping with transport for the practice. |

Principal’s Report
What a busy week we’ve had. Swimming was a huge success and everyone had a great time. I was pleased to see everyone participate and try no matter what their ability level. Thanks to all the Whanau that came and supported the children at the poolside. We are now at the stage of building our prototypes for our bird feeders. This is part of a technology unit we are presently working on. By the end of the Term we should have some great looking bird feeders for the winter. |

Principal’s Report
It is time again for the Board of Trustees, with the help from the Community, to revisit our school Charter. The Charter document plans ahead for the next three years in the Curriculum, states our Values and Beliefs and our Education Priorities, decides on the responsibilities for Maori Outcomes, and sets out basic Educational practice in the school’s day to day running. Over the next few newsletters we will be asking you to give comments on various aspects of the document to see if you are happy with it or would like to see change. |

Roll - 14 Students
Principal’s Report We are getting closer to the big events of Athletics and Swimming sports. Children have been working hard at improving their technique and ability in both areas. Here’s hoping for good weather on the days. Central Southland Rural Primary School is now officially under an enrolment scheme. They can no longer take any child from outside their zone. They will have to advertise twice a year for their vacancies if they have any, according to Ministry policy. Hopefully it means that our roll will continue to grow. A big thank you to Kelly, our relief cleaner this week. We appreciate the time and effort put in whilst Lorraine is off on holiday. Just a reminder that spelling and reading are to be done each night. There are a few children that are not having their books signed to say this is happening. Routines are well in place and everybody has settled in. What a delightful group of children this year.
Have a great week. Clare |

ROLL - Students 14 and climbing
Principal’s Report
Both Natasha and myself have been looking forward to coming back to school since Christmas! We have arrived back to excellent weather, a freshly painted school and a busy Term ahead of us. This Term we are looking at Healthy relationships, recognising feelings, how to draw faces, athletics, swimming, report writing in English and storytelling. That is just some of what we’re doing and that’s not including the “normal” stuff. Please take special note of the dates listed for the Term. These include athletics, Interviews, holidays etc. Enjoy the rest of Summer. |
